Frequently asked questions about swine flu
What are you doing to prevent the spread and risk of any infection?
We are following the government guidelines to prevent the spread of the virus
· All classrooms have a box of tissues and the waste bin is frequently emptied
· Students wash their hands frequently and always following a visit to the bathroom and before eating
· We have alcohol gel around the school for pupil and staff use
What will happen if a member of the school is diagnosed with swine flu?
We will contact the local authority for their guidance.
It may be that they will advise us to shut.
Schools that are currently shut are to remain closed for 1 – 2 weeks.
How will I find out if the school is closed?
We will post an announcement on the school website and announcements will be made on BBC Radio Berkshire.
If we have to shut in a hurry then we will display the information very clearly in the car parks as well
Will my daughter be able to continue with her studies?
We will endeavour to continue to provide education services via email communication providing that members of staff are fit to do so. Students will be able to email work to teachers and this will be emailed back to the student with comments.
Will my daughter’s GCSE and A Level work be affected?
The government is making arrangements with the examination boards for students unable to sit this summer’s papers.
